Up on arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be transfer out from the air port and check in to the hotel. We will leave the hotel morning at 8.30 drive north up to Mount Entoto, as we drive up the hill there is a drop in attitude and the air is filled the scent of the eucalyptus trees which line the road. From the top of the mountain Entoto, there is a panoramic view of the capital and its surrounding.

In the year 1981 Emperor Menelik- II were permanently camp here, after the remains of an old town called Ankober, believed to have been the capital of the 16 th century monarch Lebna Dingel, were discovered. Menelik took this discovery to be a divine and auspicious sign for his new capital, Entoto.

On our excursion to Entoto, we will visit St. Mariam church, where Menelik was crowned as an Emperor of Ethiopia since 1989, and the small museum in the compound. There are various clothes, court and household implements and weapons dating from that period.

Our next journey will be to the National Museum and Archeological Museum. Here visitors can visit exhibits dating back to 3.5 million years old remains of Lucy (locally called Dinkinesh) and the Axumite and the monarchies of Tewodros and Menelik.

After all this we have time for lunch, there a variety international & local traditional restaurants in Addis Ababa or visitors may refer to one of Ethiopian cultural food restaurants like Addis Ababa Restaurant, once the home of Empress Zewditu. Yod Abyssinia, the traditional Gurage kitfo house with coffee ceremony.

After lunch we will continue our visit to the Ethnological museum found in the compound of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies, where we can see clothing from different ethnics along with artifacts, households and in the separate section, paintings reflecting the history and culture of the country. Our next stop will be Holy Trinity Cathedral (kidist Selassie church), where many patriots of the war against the Italian invaders are buried and the first tomb of Emperor Menelik-II and Empress Taitu was here before shifted to Entoto.

Then passing via Menilik's Palace, we proceed to African Hall in the head quarters of The Economic Commission for Africa for a look at the large stained glass artwork designed by renowned Ethiopian famous artist Afework Tekle. African hall is on the Menelik Avenue –an imposing symbol of African independence.

St .George cathedral (Giorgis cathedral) lies at the North end of Churchill road built in 1896 in the traditional octagonal shape to commemorate Ethiopia’s patriotism. The paintings of cathedral are the work of Artist Afework Tekle. There is also a small museum in the compound.

We then moved to Mercato, the largest open air markets in Africa, where virtually every possible commodity is on sale. The Addis Mercato, located in the Addis Ketema district of western Addis Ababa, is the primary retail, whole sale and distribution point for the city and the central high land.

Then after, we can see the Lions Zoo in the capital.
